Shoes And Clothing

Raid Fatukha, chairman of the Palestinian Committee for the coordination of commodities in Gaza, said 29 days that Israel had imposed a tight blockade on Gaza Strip for more than two years, and for the first time allowed two kinds of clothing and shoes to enter Gaza.

Fatukha told Xinhua that the Palestinian side had submitted a list of 33 necessary commodities to the Israeli side, but the Israeli side finally allowed only two items of clothing and shoes to enter.

Building materials, household appliances, steel materials and other commodities are still on the embargo list.

In June 2007, the Pakistan Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) seized control of Gaza Strip.

Since then, Israel has imposed a strict blockade on Gaza Strip, allowing only part of food, medicine and glass to enter Gaza.

In addition, the Israeli side decided to implement a 9 day lock order on the West Bank of the Jordan River from 29 hours local time.

In the meantime, in addition to prohibiting ordinary people from going to and from the West Bank, medical personnel and teachers who need access to the area for humanitarian reasons must also be approved by the Israeli side.

The main passageways in the West Bank are controlled by the Israeli army.

The Israeli side often imposed a blockade on Palestinian territory during major festivals on the grounds of security.

Since sunset in March 29th, Israel will celebrate its traditional Passover Passover.
