Lai Changxing

On the afternoon of July 22nd, in Vancouver, on the afternoon of the Canadian police escort, the civil aviation flight to China departed from Vancouver International Airport.

Earlier, the Canadian federal court ruled on the 21 day of the repatriation of Lai Changxing for more than 3 hours. He made a judgement at 6 p.m. Vancouver time, dismissed Lai Changxing's application for postpone the execution of the repatriation order, and decided to implement Lai Changxing's repatriation order.

Lai Changxing, an important suspect in the "Yuanhua" smuggling case accused and wanted by the Chinese judicial department, fled to Canada in 1999 as a tourist identity.

In November 2000, the Canadian government placed Lai Changxing under house arrest in a residential suburb of Vancouver.

Lai Changxing has been trying all his best to try to rely on Canada, and its most important means is to apply for refugees.

Xinhua News Agency reported that Lai Changxing's first visit to Canada was judged by Lai Changxing's arrival.

Canada

It may have misjudged the situation, thinking that it could be peaceful, and still lived the life of the "Red Chamber".

It is alleged that Lai Changxing spent $about 1300000 in West 57 street in Vancouver to buy a mansion with a garden area of 1000 square meters.

Those familiar with the situation said that Lai Changxing had visited many casino gambling games in Vancouver Chinatown and Broadway West, and every time he won the money, he would reward the entire staff and show his true colors.

This kind of life lasted until November 2001, when the Canadian Immigration Bureau arrested Lai Changxing and his wife on the crime of illegal immigration until the conditional release was released in June 2002.

Canada Immigration Bureau will continue to be imprisoned. Lai Changxing and his wife made stricter rules: two people must pay 80 thousand yuan bail; prohibit gambling or contact with gang members; stay in apartments and go out for three hours a day; in addition, they must report to the authorities regularly.

Although he had been spending money in Canada when he first arrived in Canada, Lai Changxing was very secretive about his property.

In response to a reporter's question, Lai Changxing said he ate simply, spending 2000 to 3000 yuan a month.

But the media revealed him to the casino.

The stakes are as high as tens of thousands of Canadian dollars.

It also drew attention from Canadian law enforcement agencies, suspected that he was involved in triads and banned him from entering the casino.

The Canadian border service, which monitors Lai Changxing's violation of detention conditions, found that in 2005 Lai Changxing violated the ban and set foot on the casino again and was videotaped by security personnel.

Also, the media revealed that Lai had claimed that his financial situation was not very good in different fields, and that money was running out.

But there were also reports that a company in Hongkong had provided money for Lai, and someone in the United States and elsewhere had remittances to him.

In June 2005, Lai Changxing's wife, Minna's divorce application was approved, and she obtained the property right of the current apartment. Now it is estimated at about 490 thousand Canadian dollars.

The case of Zeng Minna repatriation will be dealt with separately.

In August 2005, Lai Changxing was arrested on a weekend in a restaurant and more than 3 hours' time. The Canadian refugee tribunal formally ordered him to be imprisoned.

The judge pointed out that Lai Changxing not only violated the ban, but also had contact with local gangsters.

According to Tassler, a Canadian immigration and refugee officer, Lai Changxing is worried about being repatriated.

China

The possibility of absconding is so great that the judge ordered him to be imprisoned.

In June 1, 2006, the Canadian federal court announced the verdict on the repatriation of Lai Changxing, and ordered the suspension of the repatriation order to be considered to decide whether to accept his request for judicial review of his repatriation risk assessment report.

In April 2007, the Ministry of immigration and refugees abolished all curfew restrictions imposed by Lai Changxing. In July of the same year, Lai Changxing obtained his driving licence.

In February 4, 2009, Lai Changxing obtained permission to work in Canada.

In July 21, 2011, the Canadian federal court decided to dismiss Lai's application for the suspension of the repatriation order and ordered the immediate execution of Lai's order of repatriation.
