French Leather Goods Exports To China Account For 23%

According to statistics, the share of French leather products in the global leather products market has surpassed Italy. In 2010, the export of French leather products increased by 19.1%, with an export volume of 1 billion 200 million euros, accounting for 11% of the global market share.

From the export market, China overtook Japan as the main export destination for French leather products last year, accounting for 23% of its export share. From the product category, handbag exports accounted for 58%, while small leather products such as wallets and card covers accounted for 26% and suitcases accounted for 14%. Among the major leather products brands, Louis Weedon's leather products export ranks first, accounting for 49% of the total French exports.

It is understood that at present, China and Hongkong export leather products accounted for 55% of the global leather products market share, and Italy accounted for 10%.
