The development slowdown, a large number of migrant workers lost their jobs, the Pearl River Delta enterprises "recruitment difficulties" is no longer a novelty.

With the development of economy, this phenomenon is becoming more and more serious.

Leather industry, as a labor-intensive industry, has not been able to get rid of the "labor shortage".

Huadu labor shortage intensified

In Shilin, which is most prosperous in the temporary labor market, the labor gap in leather industry is 30%.

A manager of Guangzhou Ming Ming leather goods company told reporters: "in the past few years, the profit can be averaged 30% to 40%. This year, only 10% can be affected by the shortage of workers.

Deng Yiquan, Secretary General of Guangdong Leather Industry Association, said that Shiling Town, known as the "leather capital of China", occupies 60% of the global handbag Market. Every year there are large orders in the Canton Fair.

But demand growth has shrunk after the European debt crisis this year, and international orders have changed dramatically. Employing temporary workers has become a more suitable mode of employment, but the consequent increase is the cost.

How long can this situation last? Deng Yiquan is very worried.

Huadu Polo Leather Co., Ltd. responsible person said that these two years Huadu factory has been very difficult to recruit people, in order to rush orders, many companies had to pay a high salary every day to find temporary workers at the top.

The more the factory is short of people, the higher the salary of casual workers, the more temporary workers are employed, the longer workers will be reduced, the less factories will be needed.

As time goes on, from the beginning of 2009, the sunshine road spontaneously formed a huge temporary labor market.

Now the market has developed to the southern road of the synthetic village, which is known as the "road labor market" by the local people.

A woman from Sichuan has not yet found a suitable job, and she chatted with reporters. "Every day's income does not necessarily amount to 80 yuan or 100 yuan," he said. "If it's a piece of work, it will be possible to earn 150 yuan even if it is done one day."

In this way, the wage of a day laborer is at least 20% higher than that of a long-term job.

On the contrary, the Shiling labor market, which is a few steps away, is particularly cold.

Although the representatives of the recruitment enterprises have already begun to take shape, the table is filled with colorful recruitment information, but only a few sparse people are asking.

Labor shortage hit the cost of leather industry

The cost of leather is also soaring due to the shortage of labor and the increase of raw materials. Fan Manru, general manager of AOKANG thousand stone manufacturing center, said that "leather has increased by 15% this year, and potion has increased by 10%, and the price of wrapping paper has risen by far more than 15%."

Fan Manru calculated a cost account: the cost of a pair of shoes increased by 10% to 15%, and no manpower cost was added.

Not long ago, a shortage of labor forced AOKANG to raise the unit price of each pair of shoes by 10%.

Fan Manru said, at present, shoemaking industry has to choose between "protecting profits" and "protecting customers". Once a large number of customers are lost, businesses will eventually go bankrupt, so more enterprises choose to sacrifice profits to keep customers.

According to the person in charge of a shoemaking enterprise in Ji'nan, last year, the cost of a pair of rubber soles was around 8 yuan, and now it costs 15 yuan.

Some experts believe that "short and urgent" orders cause employment shock waves, reflecting the development of China's traditional labor-intensive industries.

"The lack of consumer confidence in the international market caused by the current global economic crisis will not completely change in one or two years. Many enterprises are unable to recruit enough workers in the short term, but they are in urgent need of employment. Therefore, temporary workers are becoming more and more large."

Professor Zheng Gongcheng, School of labor and personnel, Renmin University of China.

At present, the employment of traditional labor intensive enterprises in the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta region has begun to appear "aging" demand.

Wang Hongli, Vice Minister of production and Protection Department of Shenzhen Federation of trade unions, believes that with the approaching of the aging society, the total amount of labor supply in China will gradually decrease in the future. Expanding the age range of employment can not fundamentally solve the problem. Enterprises should either upgrade or pfer, and there is no other way out.
