foreign country yarn Continuous influx of Indonesian market, its low price has made this yarn decline. To this end, Indonesian yarn manufacturers have asked the government to conduct anti-dumping investigations against some foreign exporters. Filament yarn exporters in South Korea, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, India and other countries and regions may be affected.

It is understood that recently four yarn companies have applied to the Indonesian anti dumping Committee for additional duties on foreign yarn companies participating in dumping activities during the 2010-2012 years.

The so-called dumping is that foreign exporters reduce the price of goods to a lower level than their native countries in order to sell their surplus products in the Indonesian market. Dumping poses a huge threat to local yarn producers in Indonesia, which will lead to a decline in sales of local yarn.

The four companies that levy anti sales tax are Asia-Pacific Fiber, Indorama Synthetics, Indorama Venture and Indorama Polyester Industries. Adya Sudhir, President of Asia-Pacific Fiber, said: "if the dumping continues to be rampant, it will sacrifice the interests of domestic manufacturers and lead to unfair trade conditions."

The four companies called on the government to impose anti-dumping duties on 15%-20%, a foreign company involved in dumping. However, after the anti-dumping Committee has to conduct a comprehensive investigation, it will take action. The report of the anti dumping committee revealed that the dumping margin of filament yarn exporters in Korea, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, India and other countries and regions was about 0.5%-20%.

Indonesian synthetic fiber The Secretary General of the association, Redma G. Wirawasta, said: "we do not demand that the government take protectionist measures. We are only promoting a fair trade environment based on WTO principles." Dumping is a great injury to the Indonesian yarn industry, which will lead to slower development of the industry than other regions, because the price of dumped products is much cheaper, leaving local yarn unattended in the market, he added.

It is reported that the loss of Indonesian filament yarn industry has increased over the past 2010-2012 years due to the dumping behavior of foreign companies. Over the past three years, Indonesian yarn sales have dropped by 4%, and the market share has dropped from 94% in 2010 to 81.3% in 2012.

However, in 2013, the Indonesian anti-dumping Committee adopted a series of anti-dumping measures, sending many countries a dumping investigation confirmation, which led to the decline in foreign yarn imports from 10 thousand tonnes to 66000 tonnes.

It is understood that the total yarn output of Indonesia's indigenous yarn will reach 890 thousand tons in 2014, a lot more than that of last year.
