Clothing WholesaleFraud

A clothing wholesaler in Hanzheng Street escaped to his hometown in Chongqing after being suspected of swindling more than 60 workshop owners and suppliers for more than 3 million yuan. After several victims found their hometown, the wholesaler claimed that he did not know the victims, but the villains first reported to the police. Chongqing local police detained him after investigating the situation. Recently, the Wuhan police have completed the relevant investigation procedures, and the case has been transferred to the procuratorial organ.

As the end of the year approached, more than 60 small owners of garment processing workshops in Yongfeng Street, Hanyang, were anxious to return to their hometown and get together with their relatives. They were all cheated by the same clothing wholesaler, and lost more than 3 million yuan.

Zeng Yazhong and more than 20 colleagues gathered in Zhengjiazui Community, Yongfeng Street, Hanyang District, to discuss how to recover the millions of yuan of service fees and material fees cheated. "I worked hard for a year, but it was all in vain because of his bad debt. I don't know how to live this year," Zeng Yazhong said.

Zeng Yazhong, from Honghu, and his relatives set up a clothing processing workshop in Yongfeng Street to process cotton padded jackets and other clothes for the clothing bosses in Hanzheng Street. In the middle of November last year, he received an order from Huang Moutao under the introduction of a friend. Huang Moutao, a native of Chongqing, has been engaged in garment wholesale business in Hanzheng Street for more than 10 years. He orally promised Zeng Yazhong that he would earn 22 yuan for each piece of cotton padded jacket processed. From the middle of November to December 20, Zeng Yazhong processed 2773 cotton padded jackets for Huang Moutao.

On December 15 last year, Zeng Yazhong contacted Huang Moutao and asked him to pay part of the processing money. Huang promised to pay him on December 20. On December 20, Zeng Yazhong did not receive processing payment. The next day, when he contacted Huang Moutao on the phone, he found that the phone was off, and Huang's wife, father, brother and others' mobile phones were also off. He rushed to Huang Moutao's shop and found it closed. He felt that the situation was wrong. He contacted some other clothing processing workshop owners who cooperated with Huang Moutao, and everyone reported to the police together. "I am almost 60 years old, suffering from hypertension, and I could not stay up at night, but in order to process clothes for him, my family worked until one or two in the morning every day. From August 9 to December 17 last year, our family worked for him for more than 60000 yuan, and only drew 20000 yuan, which is equivalent to half a year's work in vain. This is our family's hard-earned money!" Mr. Zhang, the owner of the workshop, wanted to cry without tears.

Ms. Zhang, from Yingcheng, is a zipper supplier. She has been supplying zippers for Huang Moutao since last July until the incident. "He owed me more than 200000 yuan for goods. If he didn't come back, I would have worked for nothing this year."

Zeng Yazhong and other defrauded merchants found that Huang Moutao owed more than 60 processing workshop owners and suppliers more than 3 million yuan in total, including more than 1 million yuan for labor services and more than 2 million yuan for materials.

What angered the victims most was that after the investigation, they found that the cost of manufacturing a cotton padded jacket was more than 60 yuan, while Huang Moutao's wholesale price to others was only 48 yuan. "He sold at a loss, indicating that he didn't want to pay us at the beginning," Zeng Yazhong said.

On December 27, several cheated merchants found Huang Moutao's hometown in Chongqing and controlled him. Huang Moutao unexpectedly said that he did not know the cheated merchant and took the initiative to report to the police. The local police found out the situation and detained him. At the beginning of this month, the police of Yongfeng Street Police Station in Hanyang brought Huang Moutao back to Wuhan from Chongqing.

Recently, a police officer from Hanyang Public Security Branch introduced that the relevant investigation procedures have been completed and the case has been transferred to Hanyang District Procuratorate.
